Q. What is the best time to do the newborn photoshoot?  

The best time for a newborn photo session is typically within the first two weeks of the baby's life. This is when newborns are most sleepy and can be easily posed into those cute, curled-up positions. After the first two weeks, babies tend to be more alert and may not be as cooperative during a photo session. It's also important to consider the baby's feeding schedule when scheduling the session. Newborns tend to sleep more after they've been fed, so it's a good idea to schedule the session for a time when the baby is likely to be well-fed and content. Additionally, make sure the room where the photos will be taken is warm and comfortable for the baby, since newborns can't regulate their body temperature very well yet.

Beyond 15 days, the baby slowly starts to stretch out and will not be very comfortable if you try to wrap them up tightly and pose them. To avoid this stress for the baby, as a newborn photographer, I always recommend to have the photo session done as soon as possible within the mentioned timeline.

Once baby is older, then there isn't much of a variety you might get in the sessions. The baby is awake for more time now and stretching out, hence they will not be comfortable being wrapped and not much of an opportunity to do too much of posing. So, it will mostly be top shots with back poses (baby lying on its back). But it really varies on each baby so we can’t predict that really.

Q. Why newborn photo session needs to be done between 5 to 15 days old?

Newborn photo sessions are typically scheduled between 5 to 15 days old for a few reasons:

1. Sleepiness: Newborns at this age tend to sleep a lot, which makes it easier to pose them into those adorable curled-up positions that are so popular

   in newborn photography.

2. Flexibility: Babies are more flexible during the first few weeks of life, which makes it easier to position them into different poses without causing

   discomfort or pain.

3. Skin condition: Newborns at this age usually have clear skin without any rashes or acne, which can make for beautiful and timeless photos.

4. Milk feeding: Newborns at this age have a strong feeding schedule and can be easily settled after feeding. It's easier to work around the feed

   schedule to keep the baby content and sleepy during the photo session.

5. Adaptation: During the first two weeks, newborns are still adjusting to the outside world and may be more comfortable in womb-like positions.

   They also have a higher tolerance for different noises and touch, which can make the photo session more enjoyable for them.

While it's still possible to have a newborn photo session outside of this timeframe, it may be more challenging to achieve the same level of sleepiness, flexibility, and contentment in the baby. The best time for a newborn photo session ultimately depends on your personal preferences and the availability of your chosen photographer.

Q. How to book / confirm my newborn photoshoot booking?

First, we discuss mutually with the clients about the various packages on offer, requirements, expected photoshoot date and available slots by phone call/email/WhatsApp conversation. Then, we will share the contract agreement form as per the agreed package/quotation, which the client need to go through and fill the contract form and pay the booking amount, thereafter, we book your slot and mark the calendar and then confirm you about the booking.

Q. What is the payment structure?

We take the payments in 3 parts, first 40% as advanced to confirm the booking, second 40% on the day of the photoshoot and remaining 20% before handing over the final deliverables i.e. Edited Images/Album/Prints.

Q. Are the props / setups included in all the packages?

Yes, props and setups are included all our new born packages. No of setups will vary depending on the package you choose.

Q. What is the duration of a newborn photoshoot?

As we do understand that you are at the crest of your newborn baby's photoshoot to be done, we take not more than 2 to 6 hours to shoot, depending on the package you select. On adding a professional make-up artist, please allow an extra hour more to us. We keep you all as comfortable during the session as possible.

Q. Are there any hair-style or makeup services offered by you at the shoot?

Yes, you can add a makeup and the hairstyle with an additional cost of ₹ 5000 - ₹ 6000 for total (if not included in the package).

 

Q. If we want to take extra gowns besides our packages, what will be the process to get them?

Yes, you can select additional gowns by paying extra ₹ 1500 for each standard gown or ₹ 3500 for per premium gown.

 

Q. Will I get to choose my Gown?

Yes, once your booking in confirmed, we will share the link with our Standard and Premium Gowns Collection. From there you can select as per your choice.

 

Q. Are studio charges included in the packages?

If you can come to our home studio then there will be no additional charge. If you choose to have the photo session at your place then studio portability charge will be included as an add-on along with your select package.

 

Q. What are the facilities available at your studio?

This is a Home based studio, which will give you access to a lounge/entertainment area, a specious air conditioned bedroom to relax yourself, a modern washroom and off course the Studio room. Our Studio has all the required equipment from backdrop to studio lights, props, accessories, dresses etc. Our place also has Car Parking facility.

Q. Do you provide your service outside Kolkata / client's place?

Yes, but additional charges are to be borne by the clients for every location.

 

Q. Do you provide all captured photos throughout the session?

Yes, we generally share all the captured photos with our watermark on them. This is to ensure that those are not the final image/output, they are for selection and proofing only,  not meant to used or shared for any other purposes.

 

Q. After the photoshoot, when will I get all my pictures?

After the photo session, clients need to pay the 2nd instalment amount (40%) and then we’ll share the initial photos via our Private Online Album. Then you’ll have to share the shortlisted images with us, after which we take 3 weeks for retouching/editing those pictures, then we share with you via the same private album with a new gallery.

 

Q. What do you mean by professionally edited images?

Professionally edited images means edited pictures which includes skin retouching, colour correction, light correction & background correction etc.

 

Q. What is the difference between Canvera Softcover Moment Book and Regular Hardcover Photobook?

Softcover Moment book is a soft covered Slim Book with photo prints come with light weight, easy-to-carry book that let you enjoy the memories in real with a pocket friendly price.
Photobook is a Hard Covered Coffee Table Book to tell your dreamy photo story. It turns your maternity photos into quality indigo prints and collate them into a lasting Photobook with Canvera.

Q. Do you provide photobook album or prints?

Yes, few of our packages already have prints or photobook included. Otherwise there is an option to choose prints or Photobook as an add-on to your package. We are a partner of Canvera, which is India’s largest and premium photo printing company. We only provide prints/photobooks from Canvera.

 

Q. How do we get our albums and related products?

We generally drive down to deliver any prints/albums within Kolkata and surroundings. However, if you stay far from our place then we’ll deliver it through the courier service. The charges of the courier are to be borne by client only.
